Is my employer required to give me a reason for firing me?

Under the employment-at-will doctrine, your employer can fire you for any legal reason or no reason at all, and there is no federal law that requires employers to notify you of the reasons for your termination. There are certain states that require employers to provide reasons for termination to employees in writing, upon request, however Florida does not have such a law.
