My boss yells at me for no reason, can I sue for hostile work environment?

With most areas of loss, statutes of limitations are pretty cut and dried. For example, if you’ve been in an accident, you have a certain number of years from the accident to file your lawsuit.



However, with employment law, especially with discrimination cases, statute of limitations can be more of a [inaudible] and more complex. That’s because with most discrimination cases, before you can file a lawsuit in court, you have to file an EEOC claim and obtain a Notice of Right To Sue from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Generally, you have 180 days to file your charge of discrimination with the EEOC. Once, you receive your Notice of Right To Sue, you have 90 days to file your discrimination lawsuit in federal court.
