What constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace?

In quick pro quo sexual harassment cases an example of harassment could be a supervisor asking his subordinate on a date and making a promotion contingent on her agreeing to go on a date. Or for example a supervisor requesting that an employee has sexual relations with him as a condition of her keeping her job.

In hostile work environment sexual harassment type cases, sexual harassment can take many different forms. It could be verbal contact. It could be physical touching. Or it could be something like showing inappropriate pictures or using inappropriate humor at work. The key is that the conduct has to be severe or pervasive enough to effect the terms and conditions of one’s employment.
