What constitutes pregnancy discrimination?

Pregnancy discrimination means that a woman who is pregnant cannot be denied a job or fired or unfairly disciplined as a result of her pregnancy. Now it doesn’t mean that a pregnant woman cannot be denied a job or disciplined or fired. She certainly can be if she’s not a qualified candidate or she is not performing her job well. However, pregnancy cannot be used as motivating factor in the decision to terminate, discipline, or not hire a woman.
