What does it mean to be discriminated against at work?

Workplace discrimination means that your employers treats you differently because of a certain protective characteristic such as your age, your sex, gender, disability, color, national origin, sexual orientation. Employment discrimination could also be in the form of harassment including sexual harassment and certain retaliatory acts are also protected by employment discrimination statutes.
